Household Hazardous Waste


There are many items that are considered hazardous to the environment and cannot be placed in your trash or recycling bins. Grease, paint, pesticides, solvents, motor oil and filters, batteries, medicines, sharps, and fluorescent tubes all must be properly disposed of at a Household Hazardous Waste Center (HHW). RESIDENTS (NO business materials accepted) may drop off qualifying items at ANY Household Hazardous Waste Center in San Bernardino County city at no cost.

Before Transporting Hazardous Waste to your Collection Center — follow these safety guidelines:

The waste is in its original container and properly labeled.
The contents of the container are the same as stated on the label.
If not the same contents as labeled, cover up the label, and write the name of its contents.
The container is sound, not leaking, and sealed.
The amount of waste transported does not exceed 15 gallons or 125 pounds.
Wastes are placed securely in the vehicle for safe transport.
